Important information about this material
Cut from dead or fallen virgin wood timbers that are centuries old, durable Old Growth Mountain Oak hardwood flooring features robust, dense grain patterns, sound knots and natural checking. Planks are run through a circle and band saw to create a rustic effect. This material is produced to order. For solid wood, please allow a 4-5 week lead time for production. For Engineered Wood, please allow a 6-7 week lead time for production.
(The pre-finish applied to the surface of the wood.)
No Uncoated materials are ideal for clients wishing to apply their own site sand and finish. This uncoated material will feature more surface patina and saw marks than materials treated with Water-Based Polyurethane or Natural Oil. Pre-coated materials are precision-milled to allow maximum adhesion of the coating; this production process reduces the visibility of surface patina and saw marks.
(Materials may be resin filled.)
No Large knot holes, checking, nail holes, worm holes and other similar characteristics will not be resin-filled. Note that any substrate used in application may be visible through the holes in the material.
(Standard practice of allowing the moisture content in the wood to adjust to application.)
7-10 Days To properly acclimate materials, the wood should be unpacked and left in the dry, temperature controlled (60-70 degrees) jobsite after all other construction has been completed. Failure to properly acclimate materials may result in the boards warping.
