Description

Pinocchi is an ink jet porcelain tile by Italian manufacturer, 14OraItaliana. Pinocchi features the surprisingly realistic look of raw plywood and OSB, or particle board. The series was designed to inspire an element of surprise; it looks as if it may be a rough, unfinished surface, yet, as a porcelain, it's unexpectedly smooth and cool to the touch. Pinocchi is suitable for many applications and can be used in spaces where the look of plywood an particle board would not typically be expected, such as bathrooms and poolside floors.

Colors + Sizes

The Pinocchi series includes two styles: Pino, which has the appearance of a plywood, Pioppo, which resembles a light wood and Truciolo which has the appearance of OSB, or particle board. Sizes are noted as nominal (and actual).

Limited stock colors and sizes include:
Pino - Matte: 24"x48" (23.62"x47.24")
Pioppo - Matte: 8"x48" (7.87" x 47.24"), 24"x24" (23.62"x23.62") and 24"x48" (23.62"x47.24")
Truciolo - Matte: 24"x48" (23.62"x47.24")

In addition to the stocked sizes, Pino is offered in rectified 8"x48" and 24"x24" tiles and Truciolo is offered in rectified 24"x24" tiles. The series also includes decorative tiles, Tartan and Cretto. Tartan transforms the style Pino with a modular tartan decoration to give a formal appearance to an otherwise informal tile. Tartan is available in two colors: Black and White. Cretto is a colorful tile featuring a geometric patter with a hand-crafted appearance. Cretto is available in two colors: Grigio and Rosso.

The modular, complementary Allblack and Allwhite tiles are available in 8"x48" (7.87"x47.24"), 24"x24" (23.62"x23.62") and 24"x48" (23.62"x47.24") tiles.

Applications

Pinocchi is suitable for interior and exterior walls and floors including heavy-traffic commercial flooring applications. Most notably, Pinocchi may be used in spaces where the look of plywood and particle board would not typically be expected, such as bathrooms or poolside floors.

Installation + Maintenance

Tiles can be installed using standard installation methods for thinset adhesives. A 1/8"-3/16" grout joint is recommended. Use high quality adhesive from manufacturers such as Laticrete and Mapei, following manufacturers’ recommendations, depending on conditions.
