Piano By Mutina
Piano is a series of partially-glazed porcelain tile designed by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec for Mutina. The collection uses variation in width (3” to 4”) and the use of a glaze to create different textural effects and a look similar to the image of certain reflections in water. The collection has five base colors and is made with colored clays to which layers of glaze are added in different widths.
“The tiles can be fitted together at will, to create endless layout possibilities. Their random disposition is mysterious and creates the impression of a total continuation of space. This systemic rhythm always creates the space for originality.”

Tiles can be installed using standard installation methods for thinset adhesives. Use high quality adhesive from manufacturers such as Laticrete and Mapei, following manufacturers’ recommendations, depending on conditions. Clean with a neutral detergent. The designer and manufacturer of this collection recommend a 2 mm grout joint. However, Stone Source recommends a grout joint of 1/8" (3.175 mm) or greater. For more information on grout joints, refer to the Stone Source Grout Joint Guide. For staggered installations, use 1/3 or less in the joints.
