Description
Chromtech 1.0 is a series of through-body porcelain tiles, manufactured in Italy by Floor Gres. This series updates the original, highly popular and innovative Chromtech series, by emphasing the importance of neutrality in modern architecture with both warm and cool colors. Three of the colors in the series, Cool/4.0, Warm/4.0 and Warm/5.0 meet the requirements set by the LEED building rating system and may be used to earn LEED MR Credits 4.1 and 4.2. Tiles in these colors have been certified by Bureau Veritas.
Sizes
Standard nominal sizes are 12"x12" (30x30 cm), 12"x24" (30x60 cm), 18"x18" (45x45 cm), 24"x24" (60x60 cm), plus mosaics (2"x2" pieces on 12"x12" mesh mounted sheets). The tile thickness is 7/16" (11 mm). All colors are rectified with perfectly squared edges and are mono-gauged, enabling the use of minimal grout joints, even when designing with multiple colors.
Colors + Finishes
There are five warm and five cool colors in the Chromtech 1.0 product line. Each color is available in matte, polished and the new three-dimensional Point finish, which is available in 12"x12" and 12"x24" tiles only. Applications
Chromtech 1.0 is highly durable, slip resistent (ASTM C1028 test results over 0.60 dry and wet), easy to maintain and stain resistant; suitable for interior and exterior walls and interior floors, including heavy traffic commercial floors.
Installation
The substrate must be flat, stable, solid, free of cracks, smooth, dry and clean. Apply tiles with thinset adhesive, following the recommendations from manufacturers such as Laticrete and Mapei, depending on the application. Recommended grout width is 1/16" or wider.
Maintenance
Remove dirt and liquids as soon as possible. Clean regularly with a neutral detergent.
