10 Years of Mutina – Everything Begins with an Interruption
Everything begins with an interruption.
Mutina is the story of an interruption. In 2006, Mutina interrupted its 30 years of history in the production of ceramics to start a new path where ceramics also meant design and contemporary art.
As Milton Glaser once said, “You can only work with people you like.” This is a philosophy that Mutina makes its own. People are everything at Mutina. Creativity, reciprocal respect and the right amount of laughter are key ingredients when working together. The team’s work is what sped up the pace, allowing Mutina’s ceramic designs to travel from Modena to the world, from Europe to Asia and across the Atlantic.
The motor that keeps Mutina on this path are the designers, the heart and soul of the company. Patricia, Rodolfo, Edward and Jay, Tokujin, Ronan and Erwan, Inga, Konstantin, Yael and Shay form a cohesive team – working with a shared passion for art, good design and architecture with a particular vision. Their challenge is to experiment with the infinite range of white, black and neutrals. Their work is a result of continuous research to produce ceramic wall and floor coverings that adapt to the architecture like a natural second skin.
But as one path is ending, another begins.
After 10 years of dedication to the design field, there’s a new destiny awaiting Mutina as it starts its way towards its greatest passion, contemporary art, with the idea of creating new collections in collaboration with its favorite artists.
How do you get to your destiny? Or how does your destiny get to you? Everything begins with an interruption.
