Senior Financial Analyst

The Senior Financial Analyst will report to the CFO and be a trusted business partner providing financial analysis support to Senior Managers across the country. This role will be responsible for all financial planning, analysis and reporting in collaboration with the functional areas and sales leadership of the business. The successful candidate will also be called on to support the executive leadership on strategic analysis and various ad hoc projects.

Responsibilities

  • Own the monthly Sales/Bookings forecast and related modelling processes, working closely with Regional Sales Managers
  • Assist the CFO with the preparation of the annual budget models and the annual Business Plan meetings
  • Monitor monthly budgets and forecasts by comparing actual revenues and expenses by department and regions
  • Perform deep-dive analytics on expense line items and business activities to find opportunities for efficiencies and savings
  • Implement, and track cost saving initiatives, in collaboration with the business.
  • Monthly gross margin analysis by salesperson and projects
  • Monthly Sales Commission calculation and reporting
  • Set up a repository and ensure compliance of completed Sales Proposals
  • Lead the Company’s Capital Expenditure budget and approval process
  • Build and maintain databases of financial data from the G/L to use for financial analysis
  • Build and maintain inventory forecast models, working with the Procurement Team
  • Build and maintain monthly cash flow models and monitor banking covenants
  • Help identify and Implement areas for working capital improvements
  • Prepare Board of Directors and other executive level presentations
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses as ass

 

The ideal candidate will possess the following experience

  • Prior budgeting/forecasting experience
  • Proven skills in financial analysis, developing models and interpreting financial data
  • Experience in building and using databases to provide meaningful data from legacy financial systems is a definite asset
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • CPA or MBA preferred, with 5-7 years of practical finance & analysis work experience
  • Advanced and proven Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint skills
