Linear

Linear is a commercially-rated glazed porcelain tile that mimics the look of travertine. Select colors (Light Brown, Light Gray, Dark Gray) are comprised of at least 10% recycled material and the Dark Brown color contains at least 40% pre-consumer recycled material. This series meets the requirements set by the LEED building rating system and may be used to earn LEED MR Credits 4.1 and 4.2. Produced in Clarksville, Tennessee, Linear may also contribute to LEED MR 5: Regional Materials. This series is certified by Bureau Veritas.

In general, mosaics can be difficult to maintain in flooring applications with heavier traffic, particularly due to the amount of grout required. Textured materials are more difficult to maintain than honed or polished. Use a sealer to minimize staining. See the Applications Guide PDF for alternatives.

ABRASION RESISTANCE

High

This material has relatively high abrasion resistance. It rates as a 7 or higher on the Mohs scale. Quartzite or granite typically fall into this range. This material is less likely to scratch than marble, limestone, onyx, slate, etc.

ABSORPTION

Low

This material is virtually non-porous. No sealer is required and it is less likely to stain.

ACID SENSITIVITY

Minimal

This material is minimally sensitive to acids. It will not acid etch or lose its surface sheen when exposed to acidic liquids such as lemons or tomatoes.

FREEZE-THAW

All Exteriors

Due to this material's Minimal or Moderate Absorption rating, its Abrasion Resistance rating, color fastness and tensile strength, this material is suitable for all exterior applications where freeze-thaw cycles are a concern. Use TCNA standards for setting in exteriors and consult an engineer regarding fastening systems and tensile strength required for your project.
