Cover

Cover is a series of 6mm unglazed porcelain tile designed by Patricia Urquiola for Mutina. It offers an array of patterns, each with varying density and intensity in color, for a collection that is reminiscent of the landscape of the sky in which clouds move continuously. The collection name came about from an experimental project using the Continuea Plus technology. The clay is blended with a mixture of micro-grit, which is then used as a base for the colored patterns applied using the silk-screen method. These may be irregular, figurative or geometric. This technology was necessary in order to obtain a compact material with powders, grains and flakes, without the addition of color or digital applications.
