Mattonelle Margherita
Mutina’s newest collection features a collaboration with the French artist and designer Nathalie Du Pasquier, an original founding member of the Memphis design group. This one of a kind collection centers around a dual concept: simple minimalist style and the courageous creativity of color. Each glazed porcelain stoneware tile is a unique, bright, and vibrant invitation to design creatively, freely, and with an abundance of personal expression. The graphics combine with each other for the creation of endless different layouts, always novel and innovative. This collection is suitable for tiling entire surfaces on both floors and walls or for creative interesting decorative details in any home, such as paneling effects, skirting, and door frames. The endless combinations range from simple minimalist style to those of a more audacious nature. This collection is ideal for those who like to experiment and play around with tile to obtain surprising results.
About Nathalie Du Pasquier was born in Bordeaux in 1957 and has lived in Milano since 1979. ABRASION RESISTANCE
High
This material has relatively high abrasion resistance. It rates as a 7 or higher on the Mohs scale. Quartzite or granite typically fall into this range. This material is less likely to scratch than marble, limestone, onyx, slate, etc.
ABSORPTION
Low
This material is virtually non-porous. No sealer is required and it is less likely to stain.
ACID SENSITIVITY
Moderate
This material is moderately sensitive to acids. Generally, acid etching will be less visible on lighter stones and honed surfaces. The finish will patina over time. If acid etching is a concern, select a minimally sensitive material.
FREEZE-THAW
Vertical Exteriors
Due to this material's texture, its Abrasion Resistance rating, color fastness and tensile strength, this material is suitable for vertical exterior applications where freeze-thaw cycles are a concern. Use TCNA standards for setting in exteriors and consult an engineer regarding fastening systems and tensile strength required for your project. This material is not suitable for exterior paving applications.
