Home / Terrazzo

Terrazzo is a composite material, poured in place or precast, which is used for floor and wall treatments. It consists of chips of marble, quartz, granite, glass, or other suitable material, poured with a cementitious binder (for chemical binding), polymeric (for physical binding), or a combination of both. Metal strips often divide sections, or changes in color or material in a pattern. Additional chips may be sprinkled atop the mix before it sets. After it is cured it is ground and polished smooth or otherwise finished to produce a uniformly textured surface. “Terrazzo” is also often to used to describe any pattern similar to the original terrazzo floors.

Terrazzo Collections

Engineered Stone

La Veneziana, an engineered stone made in the United States, is a tribute to the ever-changing, beautiful Venetian Terrazzo. The latest look in terrazzo materials is a substrate that, like all orginal Trend Q, has pigmented polyester resin and granules, or “grit”. For this collection, the grit is large, showing off the quartz, porcelain, granite, glass, or mosaic particles that make up the material. This collection contains measured amounts of either post-consumer or post-industrial recycled materials. This material is low-maintenance and has high scratch resistance and high thermal shock resistance.

Engineered Stone

Celador 2.0 is a quartz-based agglomerate, cast into tiles and slabs. It is highly durable and is suitable for many residential and commercial applications, including kitchen countertops, bar tops, and vanities, as well as heavy-commercial flooring applications such as lobbies, retail spaces, and airports. Celador 2.0 is extremely hard and dense and is virtually non-porous, so no sealer is required, and it is less likely to stain than other marble and cement-based agglomerate. It will not react to acid, so it will not acid etch or lose its surface sheen when exposed to acidic foods such as lemons or tomatoes. It can withstand wear, even on heavy traffic commercial floors, and it requires minimal maintenance.

Porcelain Tile

Artwork is a series of porcelain tile with ink-jet printing technology. The aesthetic is characterized by fragments of matter and neutral colors, for a stylized surface with irregular shapes. The design is based on classic Venetian and Palladian flooring . All finishes are suitable for exterior walls, while the matte finish can withstand wear, even on heavy traffic commercial floors, and it requires minimal maintenance.

Marble Agglomerate

Stone Source has a tremendous collection of both marble-resin and marble-cement terrazzo. Marble is agglomerate obtained by mixing first choice marble chips carefully selected for size and color with polyester resin or cement. It is produced in standard size blocks with the latest vacuum technology systems. The competitive price and color homogeneity make it the ideal material for large projects.
